On
Sunday 2nd May 2004, twenty five
sports enthusiasts took to the
field for a morning of rounders,
volleyball, leaderball and of
course, the running of the second
Dalkeith Tennis Club's Egg and
Spoon Relay (see photo below,
right), sponsored by Golden
Egg Farms. The
winning team, Mayuko Miyano, Dale
Magnus (with trophy), Wolf and
Glenda Martinick and Lyn
Micha. Egg
and Spoon Relay. We
indulged in a delicious breakfast
of eggs (thanks to Golden Egg
Farms), including Rolf's
to-die-for scrambled eggs, before
commencing on the strenuous
activity! We
had some great exhibitions of
style and sportsmanship in the
rounders. David and Jane Tucker
in particular were outstanding.
David for his wonderful
technique... ...and
Jane for her imaginative (and
effective) choice of
bat! The
volleyball was a closely
contested event, with umpire
David Magnus open to suggestions
and bribes! The
DTC Sports Day Volleyball
teams. In
all, it was a fun morning! Thanks
to Golden Egg Farms for the eggs
and the trophy, and to Lyn Micha
for organizing it all! The
smiles of happy
competitors. |
